As a responsible corporate citizen, NAREDCO Telangana has always been in the forefront of corporate social responsibility activities. Its active role for the encouragement of a green channel and suggestions for giving a boost to green buildings and providing incentives to them, so as to check pollution, has been lauded in several quarters. The authorities too have taken note of their suggestions.
CSR Activities
The construction of houses for tsunami victims
When the tsunami struck some parts of the State like Prakasam district in 2004, it left many people homeless. NAREDCO Telangana took up construction of houses for tsunami victims.
Later in 2009, when there was a devastating flood in Kurnool and Mahaboobnagar districts, NAREDCO Telangana took up the challenge and built houses for the flood-affected people.
Translocation of fully grown trees
In 2008, in a novel gesture, NAREDCO Telangana was instrumental in the translocation of fully grown trees from the ESI premises in Erragadda to other parts of the city.
It was also in the forefront in the greening of the Hyderabad Metro Corridor route.
When plastic was banned under the jurisdiction of the GHMC, NAREDCO Telangana along with organisations like Civic Exnora stepped in to popularise cloth bags and distributed them free.
Contributed 200 Cycles to the GHMC
In another gesture towards fitness and promotion of a healthy lifestyle, NAREDCO Telangana contributed 200 cycles to the GHMC for its cycling track on the Necklace Road.
Biodiversity Conclave
The organisation of the UN-supported CoP-11 in Hyderabad in October 2012 provided NAREDCO Telangana the right opportunity to show its concern for the environment and a healthy lifestyle.
NAREDCO Telangana took up the beautification of both the entrance roads of Hitex and HICC, Hyderabad, ahead of the CoP-11 summit.
Supported the “2041 Climate Force Antarctic Expedition”
Antarctica Expedition Team is organising 2041 ClimateForce between 17th and 28th March 2022. Mr. Abhishek Sobbana recommended by Smt. Priyanka Varghese, Chief Minister’s Office has been selected to be a part of 150 team of Antarctica Expedition Team representing Telangana.
The core 50-year mission of 2041 ClimateForce, which grows ever more critical by the year, is to help preserve Antarctica by engaging businesses and communities on climate science, personal leadership, renewable technologies, and the promotion of measurable action plans surrounding sustainable development.
